Eagle TV has earned a reputation in Mongolia for fairness and independence. No other media sources is trusted more when it comes to news and public information. Building upon this reputation, AMONG Foundation wanted to extend Eagle TV's influence beyond the normal news of the day and address Mongolia's most pressing social problems through advocacy journalism.
Eagle Cares was developed as a bridge between Eagle TV’s ministry programming and secular news functions with the purpose of demonstrating God’s love through Mongolian journalism. Eagle Cares shall inject Christian-influenced advocacy journalism into Eagle TV’s normal news programming, and produce mercy-oriented promotional campaigns offering Christ-centric solutions to Mongolia’s most difficult social needs.
The Eagle Cares team shall engage in high- and low-risk investigative journalism, exploring difficult subject areas: human trafficking, abandoned children, rampant alcoholism, family destruction, etc. With the help of local partners, news packages and television events shall strategically advocate Christ-centric, culturally appropriate solutions to these problems with the objective of demonstrating God’s love through television.
A gift of just $69 will sponsor a day's work by the Eagle Care's team to address some of Mongolia's most difficult social issues.
Human Trafficking
Eagle TV has already laid the groundwork for partnership with several organizations to address the trafficking of Mongolian young people, forced prostitution of minors, and domestic slavery in the countryside. Eagle Cares will conduct undercover news investigations, profile victims and solutions, and provide avoidance education.
Alcolholism
Mongolia’s number one problem, "officially" with 14 percent of Mongolian men classified as alcoholic. Eagle Cares will investigate and profile illegal alcohol production and sale, victims of alcoholism, and, with the help of local partners, present Christ-centric solutions to alcohol addiction.
Men's Education
At the request of Mongolia's President, Nambaryn Enkhbayar, Eagle Cares will profile the poor state of education amongst Mongolia's male population, which also contributes significantly to Mongolian alcoholism. Most university students are women. The lack of male involvement in higher education is facilitating family problems, self-esteem issues among men, and inhibiting Mongolia's job market. Eagle Cares will profile the problems in men's education and advocate for a sea-change in values among Mongolian men.
