God Calls
"Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations..." (Matthew 28:19)
God has already called you. Each believer must respond to Christ's Great Commission. Unfortunately, the speed and complexity of life in this society have blurred that reality.
As we gathered that November in 1991 at the home of Gordon and Dee Stewart, Bill Bright's challenge seemed impossible. How could people in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, even dream of impacting a nation we knew so little about? God knew we needed encouragement. His faith-giving miracles began that night and have continued ever since.
As Craig Lawrence prayed for faith to believe the call was real, a donor slipped a check for $25,000 in his hand. Roger Stewart, crippled by back pain, asked the Lord if he should be a part of this new ministry. The back pain disappeared.
Within a few hours, $145,000 was pledged and 23 people said they would travel to Mongolia to learn more and to attend the premier of the JESUS Film to the nation's leaders.
